Urbina traded to Marlins

ESPN News is reporting urbina's been dealt to Florida. That's all I got at the moment.

Awesome.

I picked him up two weeks ago after an owner left him for dead, thinking he was going to the Yanks to setup (I did too).

I just got him to get me saves for a bit. Looks like I got a huge bargain. :-)

Remember that it's not 100% clear that Urbina will take over from Looper just yet, especially since Looper has pitched well as the closer. They might have Urbina work in setup at first, and then make the switch at the first sign of Looper struggling.

Is he going to close or setup?

So I should hold onto Looper (not dump him for Cordero)?

hold on to both Looper and Urbina until you see who will be the closer

From Rotoworld:

Marlins acquired pitcher Ugueth Urbina from the Texas Rangers for minor league outfielders Adrian Gonzalez and Will Smith and minor league pitcher Ryan Snare.

IS Cordero the backup in Texas though? Are we sure (have they announced that?) or is it speculation?

rotoworld:

Ugueth Urbina - R - Florida Marlins Jul 11

The Rangers have called a news conference to announce a transaction, reportedly the trade of closer Ugueth Urbina.
Francisco Cordera will take over as the Rangers' closer with Urbina gone. The Marlins might let Braden Looper keep his job for now, but his value definitely decreases with this news.

Hehe, Ranger fans have to be beside themselves. They get ANOTHER OF in a deal to add the the plethorea of young OF's they already have. Don't get me wrong, Gonzalez is a good prospect but he's not a PITCHING prospect and that more than anything is what the Rangers need.
