Is this 5X5 team good enough?

Postby Spokes » Fri Mar 31, 2006 11:13 pm

Hey. Here is a team of mine in a 5X5 league, with 12 teams.

C: Posada
1B: Thome
2B: Figgins
SS: Peralta
3B: A-Rod
OF: Beltran
OF: Giles
OF: Wilkerson
Util: Loretta BN:
BN: P. Wilson BN:
BN: Luis Gonzalez (I am trying to pick up Edgar Renteria and drop Gonzo with my waiver priority)

SP: C. Zambrano
SP: Colon
RP: Lidge
RP: C. Cordero
P: J. Vazquez
P: Kazmir
P: Bonderman
BN: Liriano
BN: Oliver Perez
BN: E. Santana

I think it's a good team, but I don't know if I have enough power/run producing hitters and I think my WHIP is going to suffer. What do you think? Thanks for any and all help.

It looks like you have enough to get by, but not to win. Id pick up a pitcher, maybe take a risk on another young guy like a joe blanton.

It looks pretty solid. You took lots of risks (Thome, Beltran, Kazmir, Colon, Ollie...) but hopefully most of those work out. It could be a winner in most leagues.

Help me out? Link is in my profile

I wish someone like Blanton was available. As far as the pitchers who are available: K. Escobar, Bedard, Chacon, M. Bautista and some guys who aren't in the rotation right now like McCarthy and Heilman. Other than that, you've got slim pickings.
And to the other poster, but with where I took Thome (9th round), Kazmir (13th) and Perez (19th), I feel pretty good about them.
