Hello all. First time poster here.
Our league differs a bit from everybody else's, as there is no bench. It's basically a full lineup, everyday.
There are 3 DL spots.
We start 1-C, 1-1B, 1-2B, 1-3B, 1-SS, 3-OF, 2-UTIL, hittingwise.
We start 5-SP and 5-P, pitchingwise.
Other note is that I had the 2nd pick in the draft, but traded away my 2nd and 3rd rounders for the 1st pick overall, and his 5th rounder. (I'm not sure if I got fleeced in this deal, or I did the fleecing)
My lineup is as follows and round the player was selected in:
C J. Mauer (8)
1B A. Pujols (1/2nd overall)
2B R. Weeks (16)
3B Á. Rodríguez (1/1st overall)
SS J. Rollins (5)
OF J. Pierre (4)
OF S. Podsednik (9)
OF J. Francoeur (13)
Util T. Hafner (5)
Util J. Giambi (11)
SP R. Harden (6)
SP B. Webb (12)
SP J. Bonderman (15)
SP P. Byrd (17)
SP Ol. Pérez (19)
P K. Escobar (18)
P J. Crain (20)
P A. Benítez (10)
P R. Dempster (14)
P J. Devine (FA pickup after I placed Prior on the DL)
DL M. Prior (7. I picked Prior over King Felix and Ben Sheets. I'm KICKING myself here, especially considering I jumped way early on the Hernandez bandwagon going back to last year when I picked him up in anticipation of his first start)
Overall, I think my team can hold steady power-wise if Weeks and Francouer live up to the hype, and I'm pretty sure I got the steals category all but dominated.
Pitching is what worries me though, as Harden is my only true ace. Prior, if he's ever healthy, hopefully can do something. I'm looking for Oliver Perez and Kelvim Escobar to hopefully have big rebound years. I drafted Crain to hopefully lower my ERA/WHIP a bit, and to get some cheap wins, since my pitching staff is pretty medicore.
I'm nervous with Benetiz and Dempster as my closers (Benetiz's ERA this Spring, and Dempster is a walk machine) and I hope Devine takes over the closer role in Atlanta.
Any comments, feedback, suggestions would be welcomed.
