(1250 max inning pitched)

1. (8) D. Ortiz 1B
(good pick at #8)
2. (13) A. Soriano 2B
(too early at #13; bound to have a drop-off in WAS)
3. (28) A. Jones OF
(I think 3rd round is too early, but others may disagree)
4. (33) D. Jeter SS
(4th round sounds right; oddly undervalued but produces across the board)
5. (48) S. Podsednik OF
(Given how your team is shaping up, 5th round is probably okay. Better hope he steals a lot!)
6. (53) J. Mauer C
(6th round about right, though I personally like to wait on catchers)
7. (68) K. Griffey Jr. OF
(7th round is too early to roll the dice on him. If he stays healthy, he'll be a good value)
8. (73) T. Glaus 3B
(Will hit .260 at best; maybe a little early in round 8. You probably would have been better off waiting and getting Rolen or Blalock at this point)
9. (88) J. Smoltz SP
(Great pick in the 9th round)
10. (93) B. Zito SP
(Along with Smoltz in 9, could make your offense early strategy pay off)
11. (108) J. Lackey SP
(Another solid SP value. Where's Haren and Patterson, they'd fit right in with your staff)
12. (113) D. Turnbow RP
(Struggling in SP, hopefully for you puts together another solid year)
13. (128) T. Jones RP
(As long as he keeps closing, he'll do his job for you)
14. (133) K. Millwood P
(ugh. Trade him to someone who actually values him)
15 . (148) K. Foulke P
(will be back. You need him to be)
16. (153) J. Giambi UTIL
(I love this pick in the 16th round)
17. (168) J. Dye BN
(great pick. Will post solid numbers.)
18. (173) F. Liriano BN
19. (188) J. Weaver BN
20. (193) R. Ibañez BN
21. (208) B. Radke P
22. (213) J. Papelbon BN

Here's your lineup:

C - Mauer
1B - Ortiz
2B - Soriano
3B - Glaus
SS - Jeter
OF - A. Jones
OF - Podsednik
UT - Giambi
Bench - Dye, Ibanez

SP - Smoltz, Zito, Lackey, Weaver, Radke
CL - Turnbow, T. Jones, Foulke
RP - F. Liriano, Papelbon

In a 10 team league, I'd put you at the middle of the pack right now.

Soriano, Glaus, Giambi, Podsednik and Jones are going to kill you in batting average. May as well boot it and trade for Dunn. Problem is that you'll be hard pressed to trade Soriano or Podsednik because you need the stolen bases.

If I were you, I'd consider packaging together a bunch of my low BA guys for a package of better players. Don't be afraid to offer a 4-for-3 player swap. See if you can trade Podsednik for Ichiro (you may need to include someone else - maybe Weaver?).

Your pitching looks good, but not great. You need all three of your closers to hold their jobs to compete in saves. Without any blowups your pitching can finish in the top quarter of the league. Keep an eye on Radke and Weaver. You don't have much room for error.

Any advice for me?
