11 team 5x5 roto, rookie to baseball, whir

this is my first year in fantasy baseball, im more familiar with fantasy football and basketball but thought id give it a shot... i think live drafting may have been a mistake, but it was fun, heres the team and im looking for any advice, dont hold back if the team grosses you out, i love the criticism... WHIR of course...

C V. martinez -hoping top at C
1b d. ortiz -consistent stud, 1st round
2b r. weeks -gamble late pick, i see some upside in healthy year?
3b. m. mora -he looks ok, not really sure of him
ss m. tejada -hope no dip in stats, felt i had to take him when stil up in 2nd rnd
OF c. lee -seems solid
OF K griffeyJr -gamble on the HR, hope he can stay healthy
OF T.Hunter -should fair well for a late round pick..
Uti Mi. Sweeney -hoping healthy with high avg ?
bn r. ibanez -could move to util?
bn J drew -could pan out for backup to shakey OF

SP r. harden -hopeful CY young, too optimistic?
SP J Patterson -seemed solid for mid round
RP b. lidge -seems solid safe choice
RP K Foulke - a 0.00 era in ST, not much shot at saves?
P D. cabrera - hoping for the upside, replaces hurt burnett
P k. escobar -high hopes
P c. capuano -lots of innings, ok K's
bn.j. weaver - his era scares me
bn Fossum -hoping more playing time will work him out?
bn a burnett -was hoping to start till injury

C V. martinez - Not the best catcher in the league. Mauer is. Still nice to have though.
1b d. ortiz -Love him
2b r. weeks -Will be a top 2ndbaseman this year. love him
3b. m. mora -solid player for a later round pick
ss m. tejada -Extremely overrated. Would rather have Rollins over him. I would try trading him for Rollins or Reyes + SP
OF c. lee -yes, is solid
OF K griffeyJr -health is a problem. trade him after all star break if posible
OF T.Hunter -not good at all. overrated. hate him
Uti Mi. Sweeney -16th round player
bn r. ibanez -solid player for a 17th round
bn J drew -MUCH better than hunter or sweeney

SP r. harden -no cy young, but still good
SP J Patterson -very nice spring. last year wasnt a fluke
RP b. lidge -love him
RP K Foulke - scary pick. i hate him. good spring though. just prety
P D. cabrera - he sucks
P k. escobar -ya, i think he will bounce back to 03 numbers
P c. capuano - last year got lucky. trade hi while u can
bn.j. weaver - good pitcher. dont be scared. just expect an era of 4.10
bn Fossum -NO NO NO.
bn a burnett -riding the bench right now. tough one

i agree with you on tejada... i just couldnt seem to pick any of the other players over him, i may be able to pull a reyes trade and agree another SP should be what im after, that said i may go out and take a gamble on Arroyo who is still on our waiver wire, and replace him with fossum, i have a feeling no one will pick up fossum anyhow...

although I would rather have jose reyes at SS, tejada is a great ballplayer and theres no reason to feel a need to deal him. martinez will be a stellar catcher and the rest of the IF looks geat. OF is mediocre with lee being your highlight. griffey is always risky but could be ok and your depth is pretty good. harden is solid but the rest of the starters arent so great (thats your biggest weakness and should look into some help there). lidge will be great of course and foulke could be big but is still risky.

I really like your team although you are really light on stolen bases. You are looking at like a 1 or 2 in that category at most. Overall your staff is good with some solid guys and some high upside guys mixed in.

only problem i have with the team would be the injuries...youre hitters are DL magnets...try to get some health mixed in there if ya can

Infield is good. Get rid of Hunter and Capuano. Mora is very underrated this year and will give you nice stats. Same goes for Patterson.

Get rid of fossum I cant see him havin a good year. Also your offensive bench is really weak. I think you could find and OF better than drew in waivers wilkerson,granderson, just to name a few possibilities. Also you can not compete in saves with only two closers, look for miceli or burgos in waivers. Other than those areas I think you have a solid team.
