I really didn't go out of my way to draft Ray to get my 6th closer, but he was still available in round 25 of 28 so I decided I'd take him. Russ Adams will probably be the first guy dropped, but I want to see how he starts the year, he can't hurt me from the bench, right? And that is Delmon Young, not Dmitri.
To Cornbread Maxwell: Yeah, when I was drafting the 3B I had ready to pick went right before my slot (that's the luck) so I moved on to a different position and thought that at least getting Atkins late wouldn't kill me. I knew I could afford to have a few not good, but servicible guys in some positions after I had the guys like Pujols, Bay, Sizemore, Beltran and Giles to secure the lineup.
The positions you mentioned, along with MI, are the positions I had targeted as my "weak" points. But I think what I have now will do until I find out what my true weaknesses are.
To BTOWNHESS: I have Delmon sitting on the bench because I know I can afford to. There aren't many guys that I'd like to have that are on waivers right now, and none that would fit into my lineup, so I decided that I might as well get him for when he gets called up. He was the last pick I had, so he didn't really cost me anything. And yeah, here's to the OF, hopefully Beltran returns to form and he's a steal at where I got him.

yeah I took Delmon with my last round pick too, then I was searching the waiver wire and saw Granderson hadnt been drafted so I took him...its just with the logjam in the OF in Tampa I dont see him playing in the majors full time til next April.

Great team, the only weakness i see is in your SP. After halladay, webb and smoltz...you have harang, vazquez and bedard. dont really like those guys. try trading some hitting for pitching and maybe valverde cuz 3 stud closers is enough.
Nice job. Great depth on the closers. As for Delmon Young, hey, it doesn't hurt to have at least one droppable guy on your team if you can afford one, right? I might think about moving one or two of your closers in a trade to upgrade 3B or SP, but other than that, it looks solid.
