11 teams, keep 5 w/ 2-round draft penalty next year.
2 minors spots, daily changes, 1450 IP
5x5 roto, standard cats
Okay, my head's spinning. I had the 8th pick of 11 teams, and felt like I was drafting in reaction to other picks almost the whole way. Half the managers left after the 18th round or so too, so it was a prospect bonanza in the late rounds... as you can see. Very weird draft for me, I don't know what to think...
Here's my team, with (round taken):
My team:
C: Willingham (20)
1b: Tracy (12)
2b: Figgins (4)
3b: Wright (1)
SS: Young (2)
OF: Holliday (8)
OF: Gomes (16)
OF: Gathright (15)
Ut: Rollins (5)
BN: Doug Davis (19)
BN: Haren (14)
BN: Valverde (13)
BN: Farnsworth (24)
BN: Murton (23)
BN: Ian Stewart (21)
BN: Milledge (22)
BN: Brandon Wood (17)
BN: Billingsley (25)
I'll definitely be looking to move Young or Rollins... Rollins really fell so I took him rather than a Sexson/Howard/Thome. Gathright was a mistaken queue-pick in the 15th, but I wanted him anyway.
I want to upgrade my 1b and OF... I'd be a lot happier with Tracy in the OF and a top-5 1b... What do YOU think? ANY SUGGESTIONS???
Don't have a ton of time to post on this but I see some GREAT potential keepers for next year. Willingham-20, King Felix-7, Patterson-10, Haren-14, Davis-19 and Stewart-21 are all some potentially really nice value keepers for next year.
Thanks for the reply. We're only keeping players drafted after the 10th round, so Felix isn't an option... thanks, though... I was pretty psyched to get Willingham in the 20th but dunno if he'll be C-eligible next year. Patterson was my first potential keeper pick... Cliff Lee just went off the board!
Thanks.
Anyone else? I just tossed myself in the deep end here...

I can assure you that as of now Willingham will EASILY be C eligible...they're slating him for about 80 games behind the plate on a 2 day C, 2 day LF schedule.

Your SP is very deep...you've got 6 quality arms there. With Hallady coming off an injury last year, King Felix being handled with kid gloves and 1450 IP you won't want to deal any of them away but if they all stay healthy you'll probably be rubbing up against the max IP (assuming an average of 200ip per starter and 80ip per reliever would put you right there...if they average more than that you'll have to juggle at the end of the year to avoid going over).
Also, I would probably start Valverde over Shields on a day-to-day basis. You don't count holds and while Shields can put up some wins I think you'd prefer the SV's in your format.

You're right, thank you.
Re the pitching, I was planning to deal with that in the second half depending what happens w/ Felix. I won't be running all my SPs out for every start if it's a bad matchup, so it should be manageable. Thanks for looking at that.
I'm thinking of trading Rollins and one of my 4-6 SPs for an upgrade at 1st and OF, but I'm not in a rush to make a move just to fill a need...

Yeah, don't deal any pitching yet...in fact I'd be hesitant to deal any of them unless you build up a solid lead first. I see a pitching deal more as a trade deadline type thing for you.
