This is a CBS H2H - POINTS league. It's pretty HR, and SP heavy. If I can get a bunch of 2 start pitchers every week, and some big bats, I think i'll have a nice year... Give me your opinion.

Nice lineup. I think that you need closers though. You only have Krod and Burgos. Maybe you could get a package deal for one of your awesome OF's.

Help with mine.

Ortiz was my first round pick, and I later traded for Vlad.

Oswalt, and F-Rod slipped too low, so I lucked out with them.

Being this is a points league, I don't have to compete with saves. In my point of view, i'd rather have a SP going out each week who I KNOW will make 2 starts and a chance to put up big points, rather then a closer who might not even get a save opp. that week.

Some people in my league have 3-4 closers in their line up. If 2 or 3 of them don't get many opps. that week, his week is shot. Not even the most ferocious hitting could pick up that slack.

My guess is that this is an 8 team league or less. If there are more than 8 teams in your league...nice work man. If this is a 10 team league, you will easily finish in the top 2 in my opinion.

Here's the thing about points leagues...I would try to get closers and find relivers with low ERA's with high k/inning ratio (if you guys have an inning limit) I would focus on pitchers with high k/inning ratios. If you don't want to trade for closers, then get some good set up guys that have the k/inning ratio. Trust me, you'll get a lot of scrap wins and saves that way and a lot of extra points for saves. Especially look for guys that are both SP/RP eligible so you can have a whole bunch of relievers going. Combine that with the couple stud Starters you have and your pitching staff will be well on it's way without trading. If you can do that off waivers, you'll win. Of course, I'm just one guy, and that's just my opninion.

Thanks!

I just noticed you get 2 points per inning, so I'm guessing there isn't an inning limit...which makes the strategy I just talked about much less viable. Sorry.

Damn, i'm sorry about that. I thought I included that stuff.

Its a 10 team league, no maximum innings pitched. So it's basically guns blazing every week.

I would be looking to grab another ellite closer. Possibly try to work out something for Ichiro, who is much less valuable in this format I assume. I would want to grab me a better SS and since this is a 10 teamer someone has to have a second SS better than Ellis on their bench.

Pitching seems to be dominant with 10 points going towards saves and wins. I would focus my efforts on chipping away at your 6 team caliber offense and get some stud pitchers.
