Head to head - who should I trade?

Just got done drafting in custom Yahoo league. 12 teams, H2H, 5x5.

I had a kind of weird draft, and took some risks. Given Yahoo's rankings, I knew some players would be taken off the board, which forced my hand. Helton being available in the 4th round was too good for me to pass up, though it left me with an extra 1B/UT stud.

I like my team, but clearly my SP needs help. I'd like to address it via trade. See below for ideas.

Clearly I need to trade either Hafner, Helton or Teixeira for some SP. Here are teams with weaker 1B and there SP:

Morneau - Peavy, Halladay
Berkman/Swisher - Santana, Prior
Overbay - Zambrano, Pettitte
Wilkerson - Caprenter
Giambi - Pedro, Randy Johnson

I'd prefer to move Helton. Who should I be targeting? Should I try a Teixeira for Santana trade?

given your lineup i would understand you wanting to trade tex for santana tho id look to move helton...try to get a solid ace for him

I had some real highlights and lowlights in my draft, since it was about a month ago. In a 11 team league, I took hafner in the 6th round! I have already dropped 3 of my draftees for WW's. But one thing I do regret is not getting Santana.

I think you can find plenty of power on the WW or in your lineup, but Santana's K-BB ratio is impossible to find anywhere else. Make the trade.

Good trade idea.

There was a big run on SP early - one reason I focused on bats.
After Hernandez, the next three SP taken were Pettitte, Prior and Z. Duke. Each has their risks, and I'm a sucker for young phenoms.

After that, no pitching got taken until round 8, when Zito, Myers and Smoltz were taken. All very good picks, IMO.

I was thinking of that too. I'd love to add Peavy to my team.

Wow, you really did hold off pitching!

I think you do need to make a deal with Helton, and yeah I guess for a SP. I'm a tad concerned about your speed, mainly because I don't think Crisp will run as much in Boston. If Reyes pulls a hamstring, you will die in that category, but being H2H you can probably get away with it.

I love Escobar in the 19th. Bedard in 21 is also nice.

I'm not sold on Young or Devine in a 12 team league.

What other SP's are out there? Penny?

I'd definitely be willing to move Helton or Hafner to a top flight SP. Hafner will probably land you a bigger name, and moving him would be fine with me as Helton is back. Big second half last year (even in only 207 at bats), nice spring, and should be just fine this season.
