Some of you might think this is ludicrous but I just wanted to throw it out there for discussion. We saw what happened to Tejada when his name got thrown into the steroids conversation. His numbers suffered. Helton had a quote that said the steroid talk bothered him. Now I don't think this investigation will throw out names very soon, if at all, but I could see players who took copious amounts of steroids getting very nervous. Or if any players were tied to Bonds and his trainer. Any thoughts guys?
Legally I don't think that there is much that can be done.
However, Giambi didn't play to well when he was baggered constantly with steroid question so I'd say the impact might be to the players game rather then having to do with suspensions etc..
Doesn't sound like they want to suspend Bonds, at least not yet. However i also think MLB is not too keen on BB breaking Babe's and Hank Aaron's records. Maybe another stint on the DL for Bonds, at least to begin the season?
Thats exactly what I was going for. I mean a suspension sucks but the player doing terrible is just as bad. I guess as the season goes on we might be able to throw out a couple possibilities of big guys who aren't doing as well as usual.
I read somewhere that Selig is going to make some big announcement at 2:00pm eastern time, possibly concerning this new steroid investigation. Should be happening in the next 15 minutes here.
Personally I could not be more sick of all this steroids talk. Mistakes were made. Steroids are now against MLB rules and players will not be able to take them going forward. Let's just let it all go and enjoy baseball again.

I agree as well fellas, but the truth remains this farce of an investigation could impact something we care about, fantasy numbers! No but in all seriousness, I just feel this investigation is being done because Selig is embarrassed about Bonds, not because he has any interest in finding out who else did it. Off the bat its already a misguided investigation that will be a disturbance.
Giambi had the best month of his career. He was lights out the last 3 months. I'm not worried. Bonds thrives on it. Look at his last 3 weeks. Giambi/Sheffield had their names out there last year. Both had big years.

I wanna see the complete list of players.....
I wonder if someone will write a book about the other players not named Bonds?
I think the thing with Shef is that hes in decline. Gammons had something on 3 year trends and how its a good indicator of future performance and Shef has declined 3 seasons in a row now. I think he'll still be good for 30 and 100 but this might be his last elite year. If anything Shef is the last guy who would let the steroids thing affect his game, but I could see it happening to other guys.
