Childhood nostalgia...

Postby Simulacrum » Thu Mar 30, 2006 12:25 pm

A friend showed me this link yesterday and it took me waay on back-

Madballs

I had completely forgotten about those things.. I used to have a Madballs lunch box.

Recently my Mom insisted I come over and clean all my baseball cards and comic books out of my old closet so my Dad could make an office in my old room, and amongst all my baseball cards I found my old Garbage Pail Kid collection. Those took me way back to grade school, when everyone had a huge stack of the nasty things and the teachers were always confiscating them. :-D

One of the cards I found is now my avatar. :-b

Anyone else remember these fondly? What other old toys and goodies make you reminisce about your childhood?

I'd have to say Transformers more than anything, but I also loved Legos and Micro Machines. I had a bunch of Transformers, but never had a whole set of 5 to make a big guy. So a few years ago when they came back out, I had to buy a whole set of 5 so I could finally make a big guy. I'm 27 years old and have a box of Transformers under my bed... :-)

Sadly, with two little girls and more kids unlikely, I'm probably never going to have a little friend to pass the Transformers down to... :,-(

I remember those too. My kid's 6 and would probably think they were pretty cool.

You have no frame of reference, Donny. You're like a child who walks into the middle of a movie...

M.U.S.C.L.E.

The tiny little plastic dudes that came in different colours. I still have my old collection of entirely too many M.U.S.C.L.E.s. They costed a lot and they didn't even do anything. A lot of them couldn't even stand upright due to the crappy molding of the plastic! What the hell was I thinking?
