Is Bush considered a sleeper? Can he do what Capuano did last year?

Does he have more upside for this season than a guy like Verlander?

As a blue jays fan he's always had a lot of upside. I was very disappointed when we traded him. He would be hot at times and average at times. But I think he will blow up soon. His first start in the majors he had a no hitter going into the ninth. (However the game didn't mean anything because it was the end of the season and both teams were out of the playoff race.)

When you say "blow up" what do you mean? I can take that 2 ways, maybe I'm old and slow.

The good kind!
He's always had "stuff." He's now facing lineups with pitchers and he's out of the AL East and he's another year more experienced.

He has always been a guy that throws strikes which is half the battle.
His K rate was pretty good in the minors but very low in MLB. I think with a better coach and confidence, he can be a decent #3 type pitcher this season.

Bush is definitely a sleeper and brings a lot of reward for the risk. This guy is going undrafted in pretty much every league and could be serviceable fantasy starter. I'm hoping for Joe Blanton type numbers from him.
...Boston papers now and then suffer a sharp flurry of arithmetic on this score; indeed, for Williams to have distributed all his hits so they did nobody else any good would constitute a feat of placement unparalleled in the annals of selfishness. -Updike

Bush is my pick to breakout this year. Maddux has a way of fixing pitchers and every starter that has stuck with the team has seem a big jump in K's under him. Moving from the AL east to the NL central is a big improvement as well. I see a mid 3 ERA, Whip in the 1.2's and a good 150 K's or so out of him.

So Bush will have a more positive affect this year in FB than a guy like Verlander?
