I would pick up Maddux first away, and Penny is you can make space.

Maddux, while the ERA may be a little high, still gives you an excellent K/BB, WHIP, a good chance at 15 wins, and as many Ks as Penny. I've got Penny on my team, but would prefer Maddux. They are close though.

Orvella may start the season in the minors? Youch. I'd still keep him over Weathers.

Brian Giles isn't going to steal 15-20 bases. I would start Torii Hunter over him.

Thanks for the help on mine.

I pretty much agree with the comments above, and I obviously like your lineup since it seems you've coincidentally got a lot of the same players on your team as I have in my league. But with regard to the available pitchers, I'd personally be highest on Penny out of that group. Seems to be in the best situation in my eyes: good pitchers park, young enough to still have some chance for a breakout year but old enough to be relatively proven, etc.

Would definitely be looking to improve starting pitching more than anywhere else. Even the weaker spots in your lineup aren't really that bad, and guys like Tejada and Bay will help cover.

I agree with Madux. Brian Giles is washed up and Tori Hunter, although one of the best defensive players in the game, is overrated offensively in my opinion. I wouldn't drop Cabrera though. He is getting a ton of hype this spring. I would shop him with hunter to try to upgrade that final OF spot of yours.

Great team, don't really know what to say. I would start Brad Wilkerson somehow, maybe over Giles. Amazing closers, especially for a 12-teamer. You should be set there for the year. I like Chris Ray, so I'd pick him up, as you've already suggested.

Overall, a great team that should contend all year.

Penny, Maddux and Verlander seem to be the best options. Orvella can leave your squad immediately.
