Jenks admits he's out of shape.
I'm sticking with my FA pickup of Cotts

I'm too lazy to make a sig at the moment

What also bodes well for Cotts is the fact that Jenks came out of shape and i'm sure players and coaches aren't happy with him. You give the ball to the guy u trust, how can u trust a fatty who didn't give a damn about you during the offseason. In ESPN the mag they say how the A's had this confidence in Street to be the closer just because of how he carries himself. Jenks fails in that aspect. This has nothing to do with the fact that I need Cotts to supplant him.

If anyone can remember this happened with Colon last year. He was throwing 90 in spring training and with his straight fastball he was getting hammered. As he got into shape his fastball went up to what its been. Now what were the first reports on Jenks? That his fb was down 10 mph. So he tried to throw harder and now his control is out of whack. He might regain his form but he was also a reclamation project last year and if Cotts gets the job and does well, it might not be there for Jenks to reclaim.

Jenks came in fat and out of shape. Big shock that the big fat obnocscious kid spent the offseason where he made a name for himself winning the world series in a town that hasn't won in 90 years drinking and eating too much. Guillen is an old school guy so he broke his balls for being a dog. Good for Ozzie.
I don't expect Hermanson to pitch again.
If Jenks loses his job, which I don't think will happen for a while, it will be to Cotts not Politte.
