Schilling's arm feels great Updated 3/29/06
Schilling, Curt SP BOS
News: Curt Schilling's arm feels great and his ankle seems solid again. Now he's dealing with a case of the nerves. "I'm nervous, anxious," Schilling said after Wednesday's 3-2 win over Pittsburgh, a tuneup for his first opening-day start with Boston. "It's been two years since I've been the guy I was. Until I do what I did before, there's a lot of questions." Analysis: "At no point last year was I confident and comfortable in putting guys away because, physically, I didn't feel like I had the ability to do it," Schilling said.
He's still old and portly, perhaps prone to future injury, but consider him a candidate for 15-plus wins with the expected contender in Boston. He's a gamble, but owners should still expect him to be a top-20 selection among starting pitchers
