Maybe not the most exciting topic in baseball, but the Orioles released Catcher Geronimo Gil today. Lopez will be the primary backup to Hernandez, starting as many as 30 games at C.

He'll keep his C eligibility for next season ;-D

but I hope he doesn't get hurt back there.
