sadly, the bit that sounds like it would actually make the trade happen is, "a promise by George to do all his banking with Pohlad firms."

i don't know what's more pathetic: pohlad as an owner or sid hartman (the self-proclaimed, "dean of minnesota sports") writing absurd, maudlin articles about how difficulties with the twins just tear up that soft-hearted teddy bear of a man, carl pohlad.

yah. not surprising that the vampire ghouls pohlad and selig got along so handsomly. i think the source of pohlad's heartbreak is that he hasn't gotten a $500MM subsidy from the state of minnesota like the rest of his buddies.

Well when Sosa implodes in the rotation (a prediction of mine) and then moved back to pen. Also, thier shopping Thomson (probably going to Tex for a RP now that Eaton is down) I could see Atlanta making a move for Lohse and trading the SS in limbo that is Betemit.

Theres a good chance that Torri Hunter will be gone by the trade deadline, he will not be back next season after his contract expires. All of this was in the Start Tribune a couple of weeks ago. Ill try and find the link.
