Need Pitching Strategy Advice

Postby MentalPowerHouse » Tue Mar 28, 2006 7:04 pm

W, SHO, SV, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP are my leagues pitching stats in a 10 team H2H league.

My SP are Harden, King Feliz, Smoltz, Haren, Duke, and Kazmir

My only RP are gagne and scot shields.

I am happy enough with my SP but obviously I need RP help... there are 3 guys on waivers that interest me. M. Gonzalez, Linebink, and Baez. Also a few other guys like Farnsworth Joe Blanton, Orvello, and and Reistmas on waivers.

My question is... should I just punt saves and pick up a holds guys and try win that stat every week with Shields + Linebrink. Or should I go with Gonzalez and try to compete in Saves and and Holds? I think Gonzalez is the most valuable of the bunch, as there are plenty of holds guys, but which strategy is better?

I just don't have the roster space for both as I will be dropping Cano for one of them, and my other bench players are Rolen and Giambi.

Also, should pick up Baez if I choose to go for holds? Back up Gagne and give comparable stats to the other guys?

Thanks for any help...
