I couldn't find it on the search, but I saw on ESPNews this morning that he left the game yesterday w/ a groin injury? Braves.com is reporting it's not serious, and that Oscar Villarreal would be the temp closer.

It's a day to day thing... will know more in a couple of days....

If you want to add it's Villareal... Devine is a middle reliever...GL!

I think adding Villereal is a big mistake especially if that means cutting ties with Devine.

Reitsma is the closer for the present and Devine is the closer for the future. Villereal might keep the wound warm for a couple games and pick up a few saves in early April while Reitsma gets back to 100%, but that's about it.

If you're trying to win your league, you should pass on a short-term thing like Villereal and keep your focus on the bigger picture and keeping your team in the picture to get saves when it matters later in the season.

I don't know where Checkers got his Devine info- I'm guessing he just scanned a depth chart and saw Devine wasn't a set-up man and dismissed him- not smart
Obviously it's impossible to tell for sure, but looking at Devine's background and based on what I read in team reprots, Devine could be closing games for the Braves very soon.

The Braves think Chris Reitsma might be feeling soreness as the result of the breaking of scar tissue in his left hamstring.

Reitsma hopes be ready for Opening Day. "I was pleased with what I saw," trainer Jeff Porter said. "We're not out of the woods yet, but it certainly looked, acted and felt better than it did last night. I say that with guarded optimism."
