Instant Messenger ..

Postby wrveres » Tue Mar 28, 2006 4:08 pm

One of the greatest tools known to all successful fantasy ballers is Instant Messenger.

Now I have always used Yahoo, realizing that it was quick and easy since I use Yahoo mail. Coordinating the two is a breeze, but I lose contact with any AOL IM guys ..

Recently I upgraded my Yahoo IM to the newest and the best. The phone that lets you do free phone calls and all the gizmos.

Unfortunately, I have had nothing but problems.

A) The free phone service is ok and all, but it is more like a CB.
B) I have connection problems with people that do not have the newest messenger.
More specific, I get cut off while IMing if they do not have the newest version. I have to actually go to the saved file to find out what they said. It is a real pain, and somewhat embarassing while talking to somebody.

So in light of all this ..
I am thinking of upgrading altogether.
I understand there are IM programs out there that let me talk to both Yahoo and AOL guys but I am not sure which one is the best.
I would have a couple of questions about the new software too.

* can I synchronize it with my Yahoo mail
* can I use the file swap feature
* can I do the free phone call thingee
* can I save IM conversations
* Is it a memory hog

Thanks
Any and all help is appreciated.

Trillian is one that I've heard off. Yea the voicetalk isn't great on yahoo but i'm sure you could download some programs that are better.

Just do a good search on Instant Messengers or chat programs. I don't use them so I really don't have much advice
I'm too lazy to make a sig at the moment

Trillian by far. MSN, Yahoo, AOL, and ICQ all in one.
