Marquis Grissom retires

Postby The Loveable Losers » Tue Mar 28, 2006 3:44 pm

From Rotowire:

The Cubs announced Tuesday that Grissom is retiring. Grissom finishes up his career as one of six players in major league history to record 2,000 hits, 200 home runs and 400 stolen bases. The other are Roberto Alomar, Barry Bonds, Rickey Henderson, Paul Molitor and Joe Morgan.

I think this helps Murton a bit by putting one less veteran in the OF. It also helps Angel Pagan since he'll now make the 25 man roster.
