I have read this guy is a five tool player and will be forcing his way into the Tigers lineup in a couple of years. Is he worth a minor league spot this year. He can be kept on the reserve squad. I have 3 picks. I also have D. Young. The other big names are gone. AL only

If you can afford to wait until 2009 then he should be worth it. I have him on my minor league sqaud.

His potential is absolutely huge, but we have yet to even see him play in the minors. Until we see him, there is no telling how fast/slow he'll move. I've heard there may be some questions early on regarding his contact skills. If you want to go for the extremely high upside, then give him a look. If you want a surer thing closer to the majors, look elsewhere. Depending on who you are choosing from, I like the gamble.

That's a good summary of Maybin. Personally, I like going for the stars in the minors, as I feel that I can pick up solid players with redrafts. Maybin's actually going to start off in Lo-A, something unforeseen when he was being drafted. They thought he would be very, very raw, but he impressed in instructional league as well as this year's minor league ST.
