I read that the padres manager said he isnt guranteeing young a spot in the rotation.
Young has failed to impress this spring, but I cant imaging the guy not getting a spot.

Here's an article from this morning saying that Boche plans to keep Young in the rotation:

"Bochy said his plan still calls for Young, 26, to join ace Jake Peavy and veteran Shawn Estes in the rotation – even after Young labored in his final Cactus League tuneup yesterday."

ah cool... yesterday they were talking like he wouldnt make the rotation, which seemed insane to me

When he got shelled in that first outing he wasn't even throwing his curveball. He only threw two pitches, the fastball and changeup, and he was working on variations of the two. This is why ST stats can be misleading sometimes. Statistically Young has been underwhelming but the Padres seem to be fairly impressed with him.

and he hasnt started pitching in the vastness of petco yet either.
i liked the guy when he was with the rangers, wish they hadnt traded him for adam disabledlist eaton.
