What is everyone's opinion on him?? He's having a good spring and has the potential to be a good one. Is he in the rotation this year?

He doesn't have a rotation spot for now, but the Braves are trying to trade either Thomson or Sosa.
If they do trade one of them, Davies should be the guy to fill in.

He's in. He has really impressed Cox this spring and did more than enough to earn a spot. The Braves are trying hard to deal John Thomson and will more than likely make a deal before the season opens.

Mark Bowman, of Braves.MLB.com, reports Atlanta Braves SP Kyle Davies had another impressive outing improving his chances of landing the fifth spot in the Braves rotation Wednesday, March 22. "I said when we came here [Davies] belongs in the big leagues," Atlanta Braves manager Bobby Cox said. "I really believe that. He's really got everything down right now that you'd want in a pitcher."

I had a bench spot open and didn't hesitate to pick him up. Even if he's not in the starting rotation right away, I think he will be soon enough.

Eh what they really could use is some more bullpen help. Too many injuries right now.

I agree. I think if Thompson gets moved it will be for a bullpen arm.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
