Felix Hernandez has been scratched from his scheduled Wednesday start due to shin splints.

Hernandez has been scratched from all running exercises for the time being, although he can do regular arm and upper body work. What the Mariners surely won't want him to do is adjust his arm motion at all to compensate for any soreness. If he has to miss a start or two early on, it's a small price to pay. Bobby Livingston could be a possibility to start the fifth game of the season.
