i think it's a wash---delgado still strikes the fear of god into a pitcher, and it might take Thome some time to adjust to the NL

I'm leaning towards Thome. I just like the phillies line up and his chances for driving in more runs then Delgado.

I'd go with Thome based on his supporting staff.

They are both good hitters and I don't think you can go wrong with either...however I would go with Thome based on his lineup.

Both are very good but I say Delgado. The Phillie supporting cast isnt that much stronger. Also many hitters tend to struggle when they change leagues. Alomar and Griffey come to mind. Other with substantial batting average drops in thier 1st NL season incluse Ricky Henderson and Mo Vaughn.

Well, to be honest, the Mo Vaughn thing probably also had to do with his taking a year and a half off from an injury, being past his prime, and being too fat to get down the line. I'm surprised they didn't have a table set up halfway down the first base line for him to get oxygen and gatorade. That guy was fat.
That's all.

I'd say Thome ... More HR and RBI's give him the edge. (Although he is sligty older I think) Thome.
