Sit Halladay vs. Boston today?

Postby Aggie_Eric98 » Tue Jul 08, 2003 9:06 am

I am about 20 innings over currently and am thinking about sitting Halladay just on a hunch. I have Willis going vs the Cubs, but something about Halladay has me scared. Anyone?

I just saw that WGN is NOT showing the Cubbies today :( . That means no Dontrelle, damn I wanted to watch him.

I am doing the same as you with Halladay & Willis. I do not need the extra game pitched right now and will bench Halladay on a hunch. I will have Willis going tonight.
I will not rest until I have you holding a coke, wearing your own shoe, playing a Sega game featuring you, while singing your own song in a new commercial starring you, broadcast during a super bowl game you are winning. Show me the $$$!!!

I also have Willis and Halladay and will be starting both. Halladay hasn't faired well against the Sox this year, but he's my ace right now, and I will start him every time. And if Dontrelle does pitch well, it will help to offset Halladay getting bombed, or vice versa.

If you're over in innings, I guess you want to sit someone, but I don't see how you could sit Halladay or Willis. That sounds like over managing to me.

In cases like these, I play the guy until he shows he needs a rest. 13 great starts in a row, and I can handle one bad one.

After being a Sox fan for many years, personally, I have a hunch that today the sox aren't going to fare too well against Halladay. After losing 2 games to the Yanks (which sucks), they are in low spirits and will have to dig themselves out of their hole. But its just a hunch...we'll see.

OK since Dontrelle is pitching so good today, I am going to bite the bullet and start Halladay tonight. But if he stinks it up, I reserve the right to say I had a hunch :-D
