Myers doesn't play against lefties, so he could play for 2-3 straight days, or sit 2-3 straight days. If there is a better catcher option out there that puts up decent numbers, that might've been what they did.
Playing against lefties or not....he's putting up pretty decent numbers for a catcher...33 R/10 HR/35 RBI/.344 AVG. If you've got a better catcher option, go for it. Otherwise, he's not that bad....I'm using him.

The problem is that he's slumping. If you have to use a platoon catcher you want him to be excellent when he does start, but that hasn't been the case with Myers for the last couple games.

He might have taken 2 0/3s the first two days of July, but since then he's gone 3/7, 4R, 2HR, and 3 rbis. Not bad for 4 games.

The .344 average of Myers is a little bit better for me than the .260 averages that I was getting from R. Hernandez and Matheny
