Discussions like this wouldnt happen without nay-sayers. This EXACT same thing was discussed last year when A.Jones had like 10 HRs if I remember right...

This really reminds me of the Burrell discussions of a year ago since he was coming off that terrible year and had a really strong spring. That thread lasted all year long and in the end he was a pretty good bargain.

Oh, and I knew someone would pull the list of pitchers, but I didn't think a bunch of people would do it 8-o . Thanks guys, you all rock! ;-D

Except A. Jones was good for so many X years in the majors, while Howard has been good for some X years in the minors. If you want to say it's the same cause people don't believe in him like people didn't in Jones when they beat up ST, then go ahead. Though as far as the players themselves go I don't see much similiarities, besides the obvious power.

Not to discount the hr's but he has had the 4th most AB's in ST. Believe me I'm enamoured with the guy and I play in a keeper league and will take him over Konerko/Delgado (but not Hafner) if given the chance.

Yeah, I saw it on TV, it was a bomb to centerfield, and off a leftie too.

LOL, he hits his first homer in a week and this thread gets unearthed. I think there are a lot of guys secretly worried about having taken Howard WAY too early. I'm not one of them, I got Thome in the 10th instead, now that guy is on an unreal ST tear.
