Do we have a winner on this one?

Is the overall debate still happening?

I thought there was supposed to be one debate every three days?

What happened to the schedule?

Oh it's definitely closed, and has been for some time. I was just waiting for a response as to who won. A winner hasn't been declared, unless the winner was notified outside of this thread.

I think another reason Scooter was put into the hall (33 YEARS LATER!!!) was becuase of his broadcaster status. But as a player (a worse 1 than Maz) he shouldn't be anywhere near the Hall with those numbers. Its like saying David Eckstein desrves to be in the hall of fame and Eck is actally better than Rizzuto, at offense at least, and that's just plain sad.

Why do you think Eckstein is better than Rizzuto offensively? Rizzuto was also a much better defensive player. I agree that Rizzuto got in based mainly on the Yankee fans campaign after Reese was elected. But being a marginal HoF is much different than comparing him to a below average SS like Eckstein.

I was just trying to find a modern comparison to Rizzuto for others that may not be as familiar with Scooter. On Baseball-Reference.com it listed Eckstein as a comparison at the same age.
