Listening to MLB's gameday audio. Reportedley Posada was hit in the face by a thrown ball in BP. He's in the hospital with a broken nose. They're talking about some procedure he'll have to have to repair the fracture. No other news as to the extent of the injury.

I hate to see anything bad happen to Jorge. He's about as great a guy as you'll find in baseball today. I remember he got hit in the face and broke his nose a couple of years ago trying to break up a double play, and his play lagged for the rest of the year (no surprise).

Joe Torre said he vision was fine and everything, so it all seems well. No worrys.

The Yankees expect Jorge Posada to miss about five days with the broken nose he suffered Wednesday night.

Posada is scheduled to be released from the hospital on Thursday morning. He should be fine in time for Opening Day.

i know this is old but i was just thinking... you think he was checking out Damon's wife and just missed the ball. i know she caused some havoc at ST last year with the Redsox.
