I know I have a very strong lineup, but I am not sure that I have what it takes in the pitching dept. I plan on waiting a few weeks to see how my team does so far, but does it look like I will need to trade away some offense for an ace?

randy is not the same randy i think...
he is still effective but i think he will more like rely on his teammates to ensure him a win rather than the other way around at this point of the career
your hitting is very good
but i have quite a bit of doubt toward your pitching depth
jason marquis is not very good although he plays on a good team
i would explore better players like jorge sosa and ervin santana to add to your pitching depth
Your pitching will swing wildly depending on the performance of guys like Bedard and Johnson the first couple of weeks. If they look stable, then keep your good lineup intact.
If any of them struggle, go for some of the SP sleepers (E. Santana, Papelbon) that may do better long run.
There are a lot of contingencies on your pitching staff. It needs work. Drop Mike MacDougal. Randy Johnson is going to be overrated. I would trade him for an elite pitcher if possible. Also, your pen looks good (w/the exception of MacDougal), but I don't trust Marquis on your bench.
Im keeping MacDougal beacuse he's not taking up a roster spot, he's on my Injured Reserve.
There are some decent pitchers available on the ww, who should i pick up and drop Marquis. Im thinkging Weaver
Lieber, Jon SP
Westbrook, Jake SP CLE
Wells, David SP BOS
Lopez, Rodrigo SP BAL
Weaver, Jeff SP ANA
Arroyo, Bronson SP CIN
Maroth, Mike SP DET
Francis, Jeff SP COL
Maddux, Greg SP CHC
Chen, Bruce SP BAL
Towers, Josh SP TOR
Seo, Jae SP LA
Washburn, Jarrod SP SEA
Weaver was selected in the 14th round (out of 16) in my draft, by the same guy who got Johan Santana, Ben Sheets, Lidge, Percival, Smoltz, and Shawn Chacon.
And Seo was selected in the same round (14) by a lineup-oriented manager who also got Zack Duke, Matt Cain, M. Gonzalez, D. Haren, and C. Wang)
Sabathia, Johnson and Davis will be solid, but none will be #1 ace starter caliber. Otherwise, the team is very good all-around with hitting and pitching, some good closers, and Bedard and Young could be great sleepers.
