Then again, I'm in Texas, so I've always been aware of possibly getting arrested for PI (Public Intoxication). This isn't a new thing, it's always been this way.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
Oh man, that sucks for the local bars. People are just going to stay home and drink where it's safe. That is, until Texas passes a law that allows police to enter your home and arrest you if you've been drinking.
I can understand PI making sense if some fool is walking down the street being rowdy and making a scene, but a bar should be a reasonable place to be drunk. Here in Tempe AZ, police will often stand in a bar and watch the people who leave, making sure the drunkies don't get behind a wheel. To me, that makes more sense.

This isn't a new law. A buddy of mine was arrested and jailed overnight, a couple of years ago for being drunk in a bar. This isn't a new law or anything.

Arrest them.
You heard Ron White's new one? It's called: You Can't Fix Stupid. He's got a T-Shirt that says that one the front, and on the back it says: Stupid Is Forever.
I've heard the new one on CD already. Not bad at all.

What seems the worst part of this to me is that they were arresting people in a hotel bar. I guess I can understand wanting people not to drink/drive (though I think there are better methods), but aren't the people in the hotel bar generally patrons of the hotel? What are they going to do, drink and stumble?
There are a lot of dangerous and stupid things people do when they're intoxicated, other than get behind the wheel of a car," Beck said. "People walk out into traffic and get run over, people jump off of balconies trying to reach a swimming pool and miss."
Oh, I see. We're trying to stop the pervasive trend of getting drunk and jumping off balconies into a pool but missing.
