ANALYSIS: I need a new 2B, and I need more RP. Should I trade away Javy Lopez and just keep mauer as a C? Any other moves I should make?

I agree to trade javy for a 2B. You want to trade away a SP like zito for another RP.

8 team leagues are hard, because every team is so stacked. At first glance I would say you are weak in HR and SB, but likely pretty strong in the other categories. I would see if you could trade for Reyes or Figgins, maybe by giving up Myers or Zito.

if it's only 8, the strength i see is your power and that's about it. mauer isn't a bad choice, but who else are you aiming for? i'd rather keep the power core you have now. and yes your pitching does need help. i would actually try to drop fielder and gomes for reaches in free agency (8 teams? there HAS to be some worthy prospects).

I like your starting pitching quite a bit, even for an 8-team league. You have good "no-name" guys for the most part. Don't worry about your relief pitching; saves will come easily enough through your WW if you pay attention.

I would try moving Zito for either an upgrade at 1B or 2B. I actually like Loretta's situation in Boston, so I don't think getting another 2B is a high priority for you at this point. Upgrading 1B (especially in an 8 team league) is. I like Chad Tracy, but he's a utility fill-in guy for you. He's going to kill you at 1B.

Not a bad team, however I'd look for a new 1b/ss. In an 8 team league you might be able to upgrade. I'd worry about 1b a little more than ss. I love lorettas situation in boston. I would stick with him because he's going to have a great year. Saves could be a problem but as long as you check the ww you will be fine. 8 team league there will be plenty of options. other wise nice job and good luck
