Just got finished today! Let me know where i messed up!
I agree with above post on RP. if Linebrink or baez is avaialble that would be a good pickup. If Beckett has a strong start I would try to trade him early and get a good bat for him in a package deal. I think he is bound for trouble this season.
here's my feel. Clearly your hitting is better than your pitching. HOWEVER, stupid is the manager who desperately makes trades before the season starts to acquire pitching. Remember- you probably drafted hitting because it is a much surer thing. There will be 10 league-changing FA pitchers that are now on the waiver wire. You will be hard-pressed to get equal value when trading a good hitter for a pitcher pre-season. Unless you have an insider tip about the pitchers that you have being big busts I say cool your jets. I too get wicked excited preseason and I want to make trades, but they will always be dangerous before the season.
I agree that this team is built for the future. But, I think you can compete this year. Your SP's could be great, depending on which Oliver Perez shows up this year, and how Felix and Cain adjust to a full season in the bigs.
I too never trade in the preseason, cuz you just don't really know what you have.
Your hitters are solid, and could be very good if Fielder progresses as expected, and Huff gets his head out of his butt. Other than those those 2 question marks, your hitters are solid across the board.
Your RP's concern me some, but you can usually find good RP's and SP's on the wire, you just need to find them before someone else does.
