I say screw mpeg2 files. Is it important?
$20 says it's porn.
Then the audio shouldn't be that important then.
He's getting audio but no video. THAT's why there's a problem!
Gadzooks! Porn with audio and no video? That's like the ninth ring of hell right there!
Bronx, we could help you more if you'll tell us the file extension of the movie you've got- like .mov, .m2v, .aiff or whatever. Right click it and look at its properties.

Yes.
Also BB51, I'd say go with Phat's idea and get VLC PLayer, it's awesome and worfks with basically everything. I believe I've had this problem before on WMP and I just played it in VLC and it worked, and I have downloaded codec packs...
Right now I have Windows Media Player set as my default video player and iTunes as my default audio player.
I just downloaded the VLP Media Player, but I don't know how to set it to replace WMP as my default video file player. I know one of you knows how to do it. I suck at computers. Help me.
Ok, I used to have problems like that (few years ago though ) and the problem is definitely a few things. Firstly, you need to have a complete codecs. Another person mentioned vlc, but that's not truely complete because it chokes on certain formats. Here's what I recommend.
I say this pack in particular because it's lightweight and developed by anime fansub groups (video and audio is key for anime) and it's updated regularly. Just make sure you unstall all codecs before you install this one.
2. Ditch Windows Media Players as your default player. I recommend Media Player Classic because it handles every type of audio and video format (.mp4, mkv, xvid, anything)
