Huff or Matos?

Postby Guest » Mon Jul 07, 2003 1:15 am

I can't decide which one to keep. Both would play as backups. Note that I already have 2 1bs. I'm currently third in the league overall, second in SBs, and around 5th in homers.

What do you need?

If you need steals badly, I would hang on to Matos, but Huff will have the overall better numbers.
Looking at the ball going over the fence isn't going to help.

Huff over Matos, he is more proven, with more power, played more positions ...

it looks like you need more power than speed. Then definitely keep Huff.

Aubrey Huff, and there isn't even a debate.

He has been clutch this year on that crappy team.

You said it at the end right there... crappy team. Being on a crappy team, huff doesn't have guys to drive in, and doesn't get driven in. So even days where he goes 2/4, he often gets 0runs and 0rbis.

Whereas with Matos, if he gets on, he's got the speed to steal one, then gets knocked in by one of Baltimore's bats. I'm sure baltimore will cool down, but they've got alot of hitters right now...
