I've been hearing conflicting opinions about Mr. Willingham. Some experts advise to stay away from him because he's overhyped and may not start; others say he's got a starting job with the Marlins, whether it's as catcher or OF, and that he's the real deal.
So what's he capable of, and could he be a top fantasy catcher in a year or two?

i think girardi has indicated he wont be playing in the outfield. he also hasnt officially been named the starting catcher. so in that sense i think he is being overhyped to a degree. he wont get as many at bats as some had hoped. however, 19 homers in 66 games at AAA last year and 24 homers in 112 games at AA in 2004 indicate he should still be a productive catcher.
