Bugos is slated to be KC's closer and DL starts when the season rosters will be set by the teams yahoo gets the info in. Usually right when the MLB season starts or a few days after.

Curious what approach people are taking with this--are you dropping MacDougal outright to pick up Burgos? Or are you waiting until the season starts so you can DL him first (and probably allowing Burgos to get picked up in the meantime)?

If you were counting on having the KC closer the entire year you can't drop MacDougal. You have to drop someone else to pick up Burgos and burn the roster spot until MacDougal hits the DL. There's no guarantee about who will have the job once MacDougal gets off the DL. Burgos has the stuff to close, he's young and he could break out (think Valverde/Lyon 2005).

I have two other closers; MacDougal was my 3rd, so I ended up just dropping him for Burgos--I figure I'll just keep an eye on MacDougal (I doubt anyone will pick him up right now), and pick him up to stash away once any of my other players hits the dl.

If that's a h2h league you're talking about and it's 12 teams or deeper that sounds like a decent plan...14 teams or deeper and it sounds like a great plan.

I personally see Burgos keeping the job. He's got good stuff and MacDougal doesn't have a track record over several years as a quality closer to fall back on...as long as Burgos can hold his own I think he'll end up keeping the job. Then again the Royals are the team that told Zack Greinke to throw all fastballs in the first 3 innings of every game so anything is possible. ;)

I think with the Macdougal situation that you have to keep him until the season starts and stash him on your DL rather than automatically dropping him.
Burgos is a mega risk and a WHIP liability. My idea is to let someone else take Burgos, and get burned.
Macdougal had a fine year last season, and should return with about 20 or so SVs

Burgos is going to explode.. im telling you.

He is the truth! Iv seen him punch it up to 100MPH with ease. And his control is coming along very well.

I like Burgos, I've seen him pitch and he could be the next big thing. But, I drafted MacDougal and am not dropping him. I'm going to put him on the DL as soon as Yahoo lets you do that. Even then, I don't know if I'll get Burgos. KC won't give him too many opportunities, and I'm thinking of getting Weathers from Cincinnati or maybe Hawkins if he wins the job in Baltimore.

If your options are Burgos, Weathers or Hawkins then you have to go Burgos. Weathers stinks and Hawkins stinks as a closer (not to mention Ray's almost assured the job).
