Apparently no one ranked to get a 3rd baseman in the 3rd round... Those can be tricky

Mugrila wrote:i just completed a draft (autopick) with this setup on cbs sportsline. i was really lucky and with the way i set up my rankings, ranking both players and what position to take each round, my team is incredible. in a 10 team league i ended up with pujols, arod, soriano, tejada, h. matsu, big unit, kind felix, b. wagner, etc. i can't see how this was at all fair to the other managers, but in the current situation, i'm not complaining.

???? What was the setup, you get pick #1 and 2? What is the point of leagues like this, there is going to be absolutely no competition. Even if you were drafting w/ 95 year old ladies, no way you ever get this team.

that is the way the old nfl.com fantasy system was.

You had to rank your guys within a position, then tell the computer what round you would draft what.

So, if everyone does things predictably, or someone does something totally dumb, you can end up totally stacked. I ended up with corey dillon, edgerrin james, kurt warner and owens one year.

Its not fun. Everyone wants the stacked team, but it is almost like beating Contra with the cheat code.

I remember that system...extremely tough to predict what kind of team you will have at the end. I didn't like it much, which is probably why I stick to serpentine drafts now...

I prefer serpentine drafts as well but this is the format they selected and since I am new to this league I feel that I should keep my opinion to myself for now.
