If Swisher had even average luck last year, his BA would have been .260. Swisher had one of the lowest BABIPs out there, so his BA really doesn't reflect how well he should have done last year. He's a good gamble as a 4th OF, especially given his chance to improve. He could legitimately hit .270-.280 with 30 HR this year (although I'd count on something more like .265/25)
edit: looking at this thread and another one on the A's, it really seems like people are down on Swish. He had a HORRIBLE BABIP last year (.266) which was completely out of line from his minors BABIPs (which have been around average). Otherwise, he knocked 22 HRs in his rookie year in 460 ABs while maintaining a 10% walk rate (which is quite good). His ISOP was .210, which is already pretty good, and give his age, this could grow even higher. I said he's worth drafting late as your 4th OF.... That's certainly true, but I'm thinking he's going to be a pretty good sleeper overall. There just aren't a lot of guys with 30 HR potential sitting around at the end of most drafts.
