I stacked on good young players this year who are pretty well proven but it turns out that I got 3 Texas players and 3 Philly players. As an owner it seems bad to have all your hitters on 2 teams. What do you guys think?
I had some problems in the first round of the playoffs in 03 as I had Manny, Nomar and Mueller and the Bosox went on a west coast road trip and the airline must have lost their bats!!
I'd monitor that closely as if the particular bats you have from Philly and Tx have 'power outages' on the road, it may be worth trying to deal some guys for guys w/o that sort of split. There was some other thread (the Teix thread maybe?) where I think somebody suggested a Tx road trip near playoff time but I did not actually check it out as I have Mike Young for my Ranger!
I wouldn't worry about this until mid summer. Yes it can be bad, but it can also be good. If the Rangers play say Halladay, and then a couple more very good pitchers, their numbers may suffer. But, if they play the D Rays, they could all blow up. It is worth looking at, but I wouldn't make any moves based solely on that right now.
i agree with pangbones. i was in your situation last year (i had teix, m.young, and blalock) and i experienced no problems. however, around midseason i did make some moves for diversity but i'm not really convinced it made a huge diffence. however, with 6 players from 2 teams i think the situation changes.
