Keeper Question

Postby Mox6 » Wed Feb 05, 2003 5:00 pm

Hey!

Almost draft time in my roto keeper league. I'm allowed to keep 5 players no more than 2 OF and not more than 2 SP.

Im thinking of keeping:
Prior, Mark
Washburn, Jarrod
Sasaki, Kazuhiro
Sexson, Richie
Abreu, Bobby

Pitching is big in my league and I really liked Prior last year. Plus my pool is deep (possibly 20 teams this year). If anyone has any opinions or suggestions I'd love to hear them.

Here is my roster from last year:
Sexson, Richie
Kennedy, Adam
Tatis, Fernando
Furcal, Rafael
Guillen, Carlos
Burks, Ellis
Abreu, Bobby
Hollandsworth, Todd
Winn, Randy
Sierra, Ruben
Rodriguez, Ivan

Garcia, Freddy
Washburn, Jarrod
Prior, Mark
Moyer, Jamie
Sasaki, Kazuhiro

I would keep:

Abreu, Bobby
Rodriguez, Ivan
Washburn, Jarrod
Prior, Mark
Sasaki, Kazuhiro

I picked Ivan because of position Scarcity. You can find another 1b equal to or better than Sexson.

I agree with trev. In a twenty team league Ivan would be the more prized commodity than Sexson. You should be able to find a suitable 1B in the draft. Perhaps Sean Casey or Mo Vaughn will be lingering about.

Its all speculation though. You have a better idea of what your league is like than we do. If you think Sexson is a better choice than Pudge go with it. The rest of you keeper choices look good.

Hey Ironman, that card is a little fuzzy. Is that Dickie Thon? I loved that guy.

Mox, I would keep:

Sexson
Pudge
Abreu

Prior
Garcia

I would think you could pick up another closer easier than replacing any of these guys.

Hmm interesting idea. Not sure what will be available for a decent closer. Anyone have a scouting report on Sasaki or the Mariners hopes for winning enoughgames to get him some saves for this year?

I know that Sasaki had offseason elbow surgery, but I have no idea how serious it was.

My picks:

Postby ScurvyDog » Wed Feb 05, 2003 9:46 pm

Abreu
IRod
Prior
Washburn
Sasaki

Sasaki will be fine. And a team doesn't have to win for there closer to get saves - (see: Mike Williams).

Prior
Sexson
Pudge
Sasaki
Abreu

I would keep Pudge over Wasburn, whos fairly easy to replace.

id go with

prior
washburn
i-rod
sasaki
abreu

im not real high on sexson and think that having the #2 catcher is a better play. you should be able to get a better 1b in the draft or possibly just get him back if your that high on him to begin. But i-rod prolly wouldnt last very long at all
