Ehh. I just don't see why this year would be different from the past two times when Reitsma closed. He just doesn't have the stamina to make consecutive appearances.

Reitsma has actually done very well for Atlanta as as setup guy. Both times he closed were preceeded by him pitching excellently in an 8th inning role.

You ever heard of K's and holds?
I forgot, how many points do you get for a minor league strike out?
Sounds like he's going to start the season on the farm.

Need to read the whole thread...

I thought I did and I thought your earlier post had an article saying:
That's not saying he's not still on that path. But at the same time, there isn't any reason for the Braves to rush his development by forcing him to prove himself as a big-league closer right now. It might be in everyone's best interest if he begins the season back in the Minors and regains the confidence that might have been shaken last year.

Funny stuff considering I can get more Ks and Holds from Scott Sauerbeck...
Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!

Joey Devine gave up his first three earned runs in nine innings this spring today against the Cardinals.
John Gall hit a three-run homer off him. One bad outing isn't going to change much here. Devine remains a heavy favorite for one of the openings in Atlanta's pen, and he wasn't going to overtake Chris Reitsma before Opening Day. Mar. 19 - 6:38 pm et
