but what about the oppposite? Namely what happens when BAD pitching meets BAD hitting?
A scientific study needs to be done with a staff of:
Milton
J. Wright
Russ Ortiz
Scott Elarton
Chan Ho Park
vs
Womack
Guzman
Ausmus
Kaz Matsui
D. Bell
Mienkawitz
C. Patterson
Catalanato
N. Perez
in a neutral park.

Hey, Catalanotto's not that bad. We're talking about a leader on Team 'Italy'. Hinske and Alex Rios are much worse on the Blue Jays alone.

that would be interesting.
i'd have 2 say that the bad hitters would dominate over the bad pitchers. Anybody could get hits off of most of those guyz. Or they would either get a walk or get beaned.
In terms of both sides being bad, i think the offense would usually be the one on top.

Of course, it's not true that good pitching beats good hitting.

IMO good pitching beats any good hitting, however bad pitching can be easily taken advantage of by bad hitting, therefore edge goes to bad hitting. Remember they are MLB players and most can hit, it's mainly the quality of pitching that dictates the hitting.

Every study I've seen shows there is absolutely no advantage of good pitching over good hitting.
