20 Team, Auction Draft, Keeper (1st yr)

Postby Roy Hobbs » Fri Mar 17, 2006 3:06 pm

I'm new to Auction Drafts ($300 cap) and to Keeper leagues so please let me know how horribly I've done with this. I'm not sure I'll ever agree to do an auction draft again. :*)

20 team, mixed keeper, h2h, 8x8 (see below).

AVG, Runs, RBIs, HRs, SBs, OBP, SLG, Hits
ERA, Wins, Loses, Strikeouts, WHIP, Saves, Holds, Blown Saves

Here's my team, remember I have no clue what I'm doing. :-o
$300 cap, bids in dollar increments.

C: Joe Mauer ($17)
1B: Nick Johnson ($8)
2B: Jorge Cantu ($24)
3B: Morgan Ensberg ($30)
SS: Jhonny Peralta ($23)
OF: Brady Clark ($7)
OF: Jason Lane ($9)
OF: Jeremy Hermida ($19)
DH: Reggie Sanders ($3)
Bench
Mike Jacobs ($10)
Omar Vizquel ($5)
Aaron Hill ($6)
Trot Nixon ($2)
Carl Everett ($1)
Ryan Church ($4)
Xavier Nady ($2)

SP:
Brett Myers ($18)
Freddy Garcia ($20)
Jason Vargas ($8)
Gustavo Chacin ($10)
Joe Blanton ($10)
Ezequiel Astacio ($2)

RP:
Francisco Rodriquez ($29)
Huston Street ($26)
Joe Borowski ($6)
Ambiorix Burgos ($1)

solid team, no all stars, but I guess you can win without them, never done an auction draft so I am not used to trying to do that. I really like the RP. As for keepers, can't judge unless I know how much each player cost

For a 20 team league, it does not look that bad.

I like Xavier Nady as a sleeper this year.

I am guessing you had a lower pick, but you did pretty good.

Looks pretty good for a 20 teamer as said. Care to post the prices you got the guys at? I'm always intrested to compare mine, as I did a 20 teamer in February.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I've added the prices above for each player. Players were released for bid periodically over about a month for us to draft. Looking back it is obvious we paid more than we should have in the early weeks.
