have they decided who will be the starting catcher for these two teams, if so who is it and is there job secure?

Olivo for the Marlins as of now. Torrealba i think in colorado. Neither has the job secure

Well Torealba was the projected starter for the Rockies but he's been banged up and has hardly played this Spring. Chances that he will start in the Majors is so-so, and I don't think there's a chance now he starts.

Right now, the starter is Danny Ardoin IMO. He's fantastic defensively and has improved at the plate. I'd like Eli Marrero to be the backup, but I don't think he will be as he is so versitle.

So IMO on opening day it will look like this:

Starter (batting 8th): Danny Ardoin
Backup: Yorvit Torealba
Extra Catcher: Eli Marrero

If Yorvie is injured and isn't on the opening day roster, its a toss up between Closser and Ojeda (as I said I'd like Marrero)

*phew*

But anyways, that was kind of a little ramble. I like to talk about the Rockies. ;-D

Either way, I wouldn't want a Rockies catcher on my fantasy team unless its a very deep league where you start 2 catchers.

Well, Closser was bad last year. He was never known for his defense, and that was horrible last year. Couldn't throw out a runner to save his life. But, he was known for his bat in the minors, and that was bad too. I think his average was .219! :-o

So, he didn't play very much once Ardoin established himself at the end of last year, and will likely have a fresh start in AAA this year. He's actually done well this Spring though, so who knows.

I think Willingham can play LF.

Willingham's been sidelined.

I think you have to worry about him catchin gmuch if he's got back problems.
