Trade Helton play Stewart!

I'm not saying Helton isn't amazing but Stewart looks like he can hold his own and Helton would bring in a lot of talent in a trade.

Plus I wanan draft Stewart and there is no reason to right now

I'm pretty sure Stewart will be playing 3B when he is called up to the show. Ryan Shealy is the guy who is being held back because of helton. He's a very good hitter, but not as good as Stewart but still pretty promising.

Explain how trading Helton would help Stewart in any way. It would hurt him, as he'd lose the biggest lineup protection. Helton is the face of the Rockies and will and should not be traded.

Stewart will not start this year. I was having this discussion on a Rockies board, and yes I'm very excited with how well he is doing, but this is what, 25 Spring Training at bats. He was only in A ball last year... he would not be able to handle big league pitching quite yet. Next year, yes. We'll trade Atkins in the offseason (if Stewart is ready)

Edit: BTW Shealy is trying to convert to OF for more playing time, as you don't get much behind a guy like Todd Helton. But, he got injured and its doubtful he'll make the opening day roster now.

I say both leagues should have the pitcher hit and a DH. WHen pitchers get to hit they feel much more apart of the game.

A ten man batting order? That's insane! How would that benefit the game? Watching these low level guys bat so the stars of the game get one less at bat per game?
