Marte, Gordon, or both?

Postby warrick95 » Sat Jul 05, 2003 9:58 am

I personally think it's about time to say bye bye to Koch's closing job. Will it be going to Gordon, Marte, or a committee? Marte's been lights out, but he's a lefty and some managers don't like using them as closers and "waste" them. Both have experience with closing, although Marte's stint was just part of last year, while Gordon's had years and years of it. What do y'all think?

FYI....

ESPN is reporting the Yankees are talking to the White Sox about a possible deal in which the Yanks send Weaver to the Sox for Tom Gordon.

thanks for the heads-up hitman, i hadn't heard anything about that flash gordon to the yanks rumor....that is something to consider because it would eliminate any value that flash gordon has, and thus makes damaso marte appear to be the better guy to take a chance on after manuel has said he is "reconsidering the closer role"......

The Sox announced today that they are going to give all three (Marte, Gordon, Koch) save chances based on matchups. I thought 2 closers splitting time was bad, but all 3? 8-o
