My league sucks

Postby CJT » Sat Jul 05, 2003 9:55 am

I joined a league with people I don't know and these guys are boring because they refuse to make any trades.

I need an OF and offered Javy Lopez and Kevin Brown for Jim Edmonds. The guy I offered this trade to is 38 games out and going down 4 to 5 games a week in a H2H league.

His catcher is Matheny and his best pitcher is Maddux.

He declined the trade saying I wasn't offering enough and he wanted me to throw in Delgado AND Foulke.

So he wants Lopez, Brown, Degaldo and Foulke for Edmonds. 8-o

I am thinking of putting all my players on waivers and leaving this league.

I feel your pain. I was in a league like that last year and swore I'd never join one like it again. I did exactly what you said you are thinking about doing. I was in first place and dropped out because I got bored. People in the league didn't even post messages or talk baseball.

don't drop your players, just don't pay attention to it. Or offer to contract your team and make them have a contraction draft. Those are always fun. In one of my leagues we always end up contracting somebody, because they have no interest.

Its too bad you joined a league with a bunch of posers. It's best to join a league with a friends. In my league it is quite competitive. It is a ten team league and we each put in $100.

1st-$600
2nd-$300
3rd-$100

However, the money is not the most important part. It is the bragging rights!! ;-D There is much trash talking on our message board! It is just so much fun. It's fun when someone gets cocky and full of themselves and then they get blownout 15-5 one week! :-b

I don't think I would want to reward anyone in that type of league though with extra players...if you're not having fun with it, I'd just put your best players in the starting positions and come back to it in a month or so to see how you're doing.

I ended up just starting all my "good" players and said hell with it. I'll check in only when I see an injury to one of them.

I told them what I was going to do and not one reply even though I know that 8 of the 13 others check in several times a day.

Hell, maybe I'll just bench them all.

No big deal, now I can spend more time on my 2 money leagues.
